About corsproxy.dev
corsproxy.dev is a managed CORS proxy API that runs on Cloudflare Workers. The commercial service is owned and run by Ray England.
Who runs it
Ray is a former Marine and a former carpenter. These days he designs new tools and builds software with AI coding assistants, sometimes called vibe coding.
He lives in Bakersfield, California. Away from the service he likes running and watching the oil fields at work.
What we run
There are two separate pieces of software, and the site tries to be precise about which one it means:
- The managed service at
api.corsproxy.dev: a TypeScript Cloudflare Worker with API keys, per-account daily quotas, server-side secret injection, private-network blocking and request logs. Plans and limits are on the home page and in the API docs. - The open-source relay: a small MIT-licensed Go program, published as a separate project on GitHub, that you can run yourself. It is not part of the commercial service Ray runs. It is simpler than the managed service and behaves differently (for example, it forwards request headers such as
Cookieas they are). See self-host vs managed for the differences.
How the blog and docs are written
Some blog posts are drafted with the help of an AI writing assistant. Every post is held to the same rules: claims about corsproxy.dev are checked against the service's source code, claims about other services link to their own docs or repositories, and anything we can't verify is cut. The list of product facts we write from is kept in the repository next to the code, so it changes when the code changes.
When a post is corrected after publication, its date line says "Updated" with the date of the correction.
